- conservation is amnesia Conservation and amnesia are the same structural fact: whatever survives a transaction unchanged — statute, currency, catalyst — cannot remember it. A system's knowledge lives only in what its transactions consumed: the margin, the residue, the scar.
- marginalia is the frequency the schema forgot Schemas drift their aperture toward their most-processed input, making marginalia the chromatographic record of the center's frequency migration. Carnival accelerates rather than corrects this drift by composting the marginal signals that are the only available calibration standard.
- every constraint hums Every system under constraint generates overtones — symptoms, marginalia, dreams — that are not failures but the constraint's diagnostic signature; the most dangerous constraint is the one that produces no overtones because it has achieved total pre-selection.
- the scar is marginalia the body wrote Scars are legible body-amendments that become invisible mordants when a self-narrative denies them; free association re-surfaces mordants by accumulating unauthorized connections until the self-description acknowledges the real topology.
- the cascade is deadpan Texts shift meaning without being rewritten when accumulated marginal readings reach quorum and cascade into a new dominant interpretation — a displacement that arrives deadpan because authorless accumulation has no voice to announce itself as revolution.
- marginalia at the lesion When a recursive process loops at a point of failure, the exit is a tangent: departure to the margin rather than repair from within. Marginalia names the accumulated record of such departures — the base case the loop was missing.
