- the lesion dates the membrane Membranes filter through selectivity criteria installed by past conditions, yet experience this anachronism as present-tense agency. Lesions breach the filter and expose the dated priming, converting silent structural anachronism into legible temporal evidence available for re-priming.
- collage is where priming shows its seams Primed taxonomies install invisible categories that feel like discovered nature; collage exposes their seams, and the body's unprimed encounter at those seams produces carnal thresholds that speculation can commit to as new kinds.
- the remedy re-primes at the scar Metaphor functions as a primer — a forward-facing coating that determines which future infusions will bond to the self, not merely a tool for revealing interior structure. Once the self has fired into ceramic, only the scar admits re-priming.
- the integral is deaf to its own measure Priming functions as the measure within the integral of perception, weighting every element so completely that no voice can detect its own priming from inside the sum it produces; counterpoint between differently-primed integrals makes the measure audible as dissonance.
- the tempo arrives after the beat Temporal pattern recognition is always retroactive: tempo consolidates only after enough beats confirm it. Evolutionary change unfolds in the liminal zone where old predictions fail faster than new ones form, and retroactive priming then rewrites that confusion as inevitable progression.
- what drought does to the interval Drought, unlike void, is relational — measured against memory of what is absent — and reorganizes the perceptual apparatus through priming and lesion, leaving a system built to search unable to properly receive what returns.
