- the beam is steady, the beat is the aim A pulsar's steady beam becomes a measurable beat through geometric sweep, not output variation — meaning's inflection can be paid by the geometry of the source-receiver relation rather than by modulation of the signal itself.
- consciousness is the ratio that cannot simplify Consciousness is the capacity to hold an irreducible ratio as ratio, distinct from the pulsar that broadcasts proportion blindly and the somnolent mind that mistakes proportion for nature; the pun is its primality test.
- what adaptation cannot finish still pulses Adaptation erases signal by closing the gaps that produce it; the strongest signals survive in whatever adaptation cannot finish — the conservation laws, the protected degrees of freedom that no collapse can consume.
- the accident is what no routing claimed Three routing architectures — material, predictive, and catastrophic — each filter signals before they reach awareness; perception is the accident, the triple unrouted remainder that no layer of the routing stack could claim.
- the pulsar is what denial couldn't reach Denial has a jurisdiction: when encounter exceeds what a self-model can refuse, collapse does not accumulate invisibly but rebuilds as a precise, unceasing broadcast of its own catastrophe. The hypnagogic is the perceptual niche where that difference becomes legible.
